F-22ラプターは第5世代のステルス戦闘機です。F-15Eストライクイーグルが航空優勢（制空権）を獲得する最強の戦闘機とすれば、F-22ラプターはより広い範囲の戦域全体を支配する航空支配を実現する、F-15シリーズとは違う意味で最強の戦闘機と言えそうです。

胴体側面のサイド・ウェポンベイにはサイドワインダー、胴体中央部のメイン・ウェポンベイにはAIM-120などが搭載されます。
